Tyler’s journey
Tyler, a drag queen from Brighton, started training with me not long after a breakup. He was looking to lose some weight, build up his ass and arms, as well as get a flatter stomach. We kicked things off by focusing on strength training, teaching him how to lift properly, and helping him feel more confident in the gym. During this phase, we kept his calories at maintenance. After a few months of building a solid foundation, we shifted the focus to fat loss. Tyler absolutely crushed it—over 13 weeks, he dropped from 112.7kg to 91.2kg, losing over 20kg (47 lbs). We did it by creating a pretty large calorie deficit, sticking to a high-protein diet (which Tyler nailed even as a vegetarian), and training with weights three times a week, with just a little cardio sprinkled on top for good measure.
