Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain English, what information Vertical Personal Training collects when you enquire about small group personal training, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Vertical Personal Training is a small group personal training business run by Alfie in Brighton, operating as a sole trader. Vertical Personal Training is the "data controller" for the information you provide — which means we're responsible for looking after it.

You can reach us:

What information we collect

When you complete our enquiry form or get in touch, we may collect:

About the health information: the injuries/limitations field is optional. Anything you tell us there is used only so we can coach you safely, and it is not a substitute for the full health screening (PAR-Q) we complete before training begins. Health information is a special category of data under UK GDPR, so we only collect it with your explicit consent (see below), and we treat it with extra care.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

We only ask for the information we actually need to reply to you and plan your training safely — nothing more. We won't use your information in ways you wouldn't reasonably expect, and we never sell it.

Legal basis for using your information

Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis to use your information:

How long we keep your information

Who we share your information with

We don't sell your information, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of trusted services to run the business, and share information with them only as needed:

These providers only handle your information on our instructions.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the page — for example, which pages are viewed — so we can improve it. Analytics tools like this use cookies, so GA4 only loads if you accept cookies on our banner. Our enquiry form (Tally) may also set functional cookies it needs to work.

Some pages also load content from other providers, which may receive your device's IP address when that content loads:

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.

Where your data is stored

Some of our providers are based outside the UK, so your information may be transferred internationally, always with appropriate safeguards in place:

Marketing and follow-up messages

We keep this simple. Any follow-up you get from us is a personal, one-to-one message — a call, text, email or WhatsApp — about your enquiry or your training. We don't run a newsletter or send bulk marketing, and we won't add you to a marketing list. If you'd rather we stopped contacting you, just tell us and we will.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details below. We'll respond within one month.

How to contact us

For anything about your privacy or the information we hold about you:

How to complain

We'd always prefer you came to us first so we can put things right. But if you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
